Classes, Camps, & Clinics
As a school of horsemanship, Capricorn Equestrian Center programs are structured to teach the total concept of the horse. So in addition to riding, students are taught safety as well as how to groom, saddle and bridle a horse in order to help the student become proficient on the ground as well as in the saddle. Classroom instruction may be incorporated whenever it is necessary to achieve better understanding of a particular concept or riding style.
Capricorn offers group horseback riding lessons for beginning to advanced riders. If you are unsure about lessons, an Orientation Class can be scheduled to introduce potential students to our program. You can see an outline for the different class levels on our class descriptions page.
Group lessons are taught in five-week sessions. The 90-minute classes meet once a week for five weeks and allot 30 minutes for horse preparation and 1 hour riding instruction. The fee is $200 per five-week session.
Beginning students and students new to Capricorn are encouraged to complete a one-time ground/safety lesson prior to starting group lessons. These classes are offered by appointment prior to the start of the new session. Cost is $25 per student.
